Hi- I'm new, and a new puppy owner, Domino, a 7 week old Alaskan Malamute mix. We're looking for other little dogs/pups to play with, or a good, safe, fun dog park. Any suggestions? Thanks

Piedmont Park

Has everybody been to the no-leash area at Piedmont? Every time I'm at the park it seems that I meet another dog owner/ownee that had no idea it was there.

The water for the dogs has been busted the last THREE times I went. :-(

Dogwood Festival

What's up with the 'no dogs' policy at the Dogwood Festival this year? From the 'offical website':

Please note that per a new City of Atlanta ordinance, and for the safety of our patrons, no pets will be allowed in the park during festival hours. This ban does NOT apply to service animals for disabled persons, canines that are pre-registered for the ADF competition, or the off-leash dog area.

Does anybody know what this new ordinance states? Oh - and what's up with the 'safety of our patrons' crap?

Crackdown

Word is that the cops are all over the off leashers with citations. They came to our dog park and a friend was in Brownwood in E. Atl and she was walking her dog early in the am and a cop pulled over and issued her a citation. I don't know what's up but it will sure be a spring buzzkill if I can't count on being able to hang with my dog off leash.
